Maple Syrup – You can’t have a Maple Butter Pecan Syrup without the maple. The real stuff is what makes this!
Butter – This adds a richness and buttery flavor to your syrup.
Raw Cane Sugar – This combined with the butter and maple will give this syrup a caramel vibe.
Vanilla Extract or Vanilla Bean Paste – This always adds that little extra something.
Salt – This will help to balance out the sweetness.
Pecan Halves or Pieces – This is optional. If you don’t like pecans you can leave this out but it adds a fabulous crunch and flavor to the syrup!

How to make Maple Butter Pecan Syrup…
Don’t let the word syrup scare you, this recipe really is super simple!
First up, slice up your butter, just into tablespoon size squares. This will help it to melt faster.
Now, go ahead and add everything into your pot, EXCEPT the pecans. That’s right, just toss it in, there is no rhyme or reason.
Turn your stove top on to low/medium. You want to start to melt everything nice and slow so it doesn’t burn, whisking occasionally as it starts to melt.
Once your butter is melted down then you will turn your burner up to medium heat and let it continue to melt and start to come to a low boil, still whisking occasionally.
This is the time that you really need to keep an eye on it. As it continues to come to a rolling boil the mixture will start to rise in the pot. You will want to continue to whisk now constantly, or it will boil out of the pot.
Allow it to boil constantly for 1 to 2 minutes (1 minute minimum). This will allow the mixture to thicken some. It will still taste amazing no matter the consistency.
After you have allowed it to boil, turn off your burner and remove it from the heat. Now is the time to add in your pecans.
I suggest allowing to cool for at least 10 minutes. Boiled sugars or syrups can be VERY hot. As yummy as it is, don’t risk burning your mouth.
Once it has cooled down a bit you are ready to enjoy!!!
