Thieves Foaming Hand Soap is a great option for a naturally clean hand soap! It is safe, clean and budget friendly. This has been the same hand soap we have used in our family for the past 6 plus years and we still love it!

Let’s face it… budget is a big deal, especially right now. The good news is you don’t have to sacrifice safe and clean ingredients though!

If you already use Thieves Foaming Hand Soap then you already know how amazing it is.  But if you want more details on the why and how to hack it to stretch your dollar then hang with me for a few.

You can go to the store and get a bottle of foaming hand soap for around $2.99-$4.88 or you know, the ones that smell super strong from your favorite bath, body and candle store for around $5.40-$7.95. But at what cost does that come to your health? You are paying for a soap to clean your hands that should be helping to keep you healthy, but instead you are buying ingredients that can tear down your body.

What health issues can traditional hand soaps cause?

They can tear down your immune system, cause skin issues, are known to disrupt the balance of hormones, can contribute to neurological issues, ADHD side effects, etc… Respiratory issues are also a common side effect from traditional chemical hand soaps. Ingredients like Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laurel Sulfate, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Methylisothiazolinone, Benzophenone-4, PEGs, Artificial Coloring, Fragrance… the list goes on. These are ingredients that need to be AVOIDED. We especially don’t need to be slathering our hands with them multiple times a day. I talk about Sodium Laurel Sulfate here as it is one of the most popular ingredients in soaps.

What are we really doing when we are washing our hands?

Obviously, we need to wash our hands throughout the day. This is vital to prevent spreading bacteria and illnesses. But there is a difference from washing our hands safely and causing a hazard to our health. Our body relies on the good bacteria to help keep us healthy. If we strip our bodies of all bacteria, bad and good, we leave our immune system defenses down.

Yes, we are removing the bad but also the good. When we remove the good we can’t fight off anything bad when it tries to get in, and it will.

If we are washing our hands with harsh chemicals, we are defeating the purpose of washing our hands. We are putting chemicals right back in and on our skin. Most antibacterial soaps contain Triclosan which is a known endocrine disruptor and a suspected carcinogen. Triclosan is also a lipophilic, which means it can bioaccumulate in our fat for long periods of time. It has been reported by Scientific American, that it is now detectable in human breast milk, blood and urine samples. I don’t know about you but that is going to be a hard no for me.

We have good bacteria on our skin which can serve to keep our immune system functioning strong. If we break it all down and strip it of all the good bacteria we are leaving ourselves unprotected while slathering on harsh chemicals. Our body will be focusing on detoxing these chemicals and trying to figure out what to do with them instead of focusing on keeping us healthy. Our body sees these chemicals in traditional hand soaps as invaders as well.

It doesn’t have to be like that though. We don’t have to strip our skin of all the good things it needs.

Thieves Foaming Hand Soap is hands down my favorite hand soap!

Like I said, we have been using this hand soap over the last 6 plus years and still love it.

Is Thieves Foaming Hand Soap safe for kiddos and babies too?

One of the many reasons I love Thieves products is that it is gentle. Everything we use on our skin absorbs into our blood stream to some extent. Using traditional soaps containing toxic chemicals on the hands of littles is something that their bodies don’t need. Thieves is gentle for them while also doing the job of boosting their immune system while their bodies are learning how to fight off germs.

What is Thieves Foaming Hand Soap?

Thieves Foaming Hand Soap is a natural alternative to chemical soaps. It contains the essential oil blend Thieves which is known for its powerful cleansing and immune supporting properties. The Thieves oil penetrates beneath the skin’s surface, providing a lasting barrier of protection.

It is gentle and contains ingredients like vitamin E, aloe vera, green tea extracts and ginkgo biloba to moisturize and soften the skin while providing a balanced pH to support the skin’s natural oils.

It has instant foam without the harsh chemicals that makes it easy to lather and rinse plus the kiddos love foam! Who am I kidding, I love the foam too!

It’s formulated with naturally derived, plant-based ingredients which are very effective in cleaning.

There are two options to purchasing Thieves Foaming Hand Soap

If you want to snag the individual bottle(s) of Thieves Foaming Hand Soap so you have the pump to reuse it is a little bit more than the refill per bottle but still cheaper than the popular brands! After you get those you would only need the refill from here on out. OR you can also grab a mason jar and foaming hand pumps like these and use that as your soap dispenser. Super Cute!

With the Thieves Foaming Hand Soap refill the cost will break down to only around $2.67 per bottle!

Either way you choose, the hack is the same. It rocks and it only takes two minutes to throw together.

Here’s how to hack it!

This is the way our family has been hacking the Thieves Foaming Hand Soap for years!

You will use 2 oz. of Thieves Foaming Hand Soap solution for every 6 oz. of water. It’s that easy. Simply fill your soap container of choice with the Thieves Foaming Hand Soap solution and slowly top with water. Ta-Da!!!! You’re ready to go!

If you snag the single hand soaps, you can turn those into FOUR individual bottles! Just pour out all but 2 oz. and store the rest in a mason jar and then top your soap bottle with water. Refill when needed.

Out of the single hand soaps you will get 4 per bottle if you use this hack. From the Thieves Foaming Hand Soap refill, you will get 16 bottles!

So it is possible to have budget friendly AND clean and safe ingredients!

I love how versatile all of these are!

Now I am by no means a doctor, I am just a Mama who loves finding natural options for her family. My education on oils is how our family has used these over the years and the benefits we have seen. You are the gatekeeper of your home and know your family so please keep that in mind while following us on this journey. Also, when speaking about essential oils, we use Young Living in our family and have for over six years. These are the oils that I have researched and feel comfortable with for our family and not all oils are created equal.
